In 1980, Tom Conger started practicing law with his father, Leonard Conger, in the firm of Conger & Conger. Tom’s uncle, Willis Conger, and his grandfather, Abe Conger, were previous members of the firm, Abe Conger having started practicing law in Bainbridge before 1920. Tom’s major practice areas are real estate, wills, and estates. He also is City Attorney for Bainbridge, and the City of Bainbridge Municipal Court prosecutor. Tom is a member and past president of Bainbridge Rotary Club, a founding member of the YMCA board of directors, and former member of the Hospital Authority. He is a member of the board of directors of First Port City Bank. Tom and his wife, Gloria, are Elders of the First Presbyterian Church. They have two grown sons, Bryant and Lee.

A native of Decatur County, Maggie Smith began her legal career in Atlanta before returning home to practice in Southwest Georgia. A graduate of Florida State University and the University of Georgia School of Law, Maggie has a practice focused on residential and commercial real estate, estate planning and probate, and business transactions. Maggie is a member of Bainbridge Rotary Club and a member of the board of directors of First Port City Bank. She previously served as Law Clerk to the Honorable James E. Graham, United States Magistrate Judge, and as Decatur County Chief Magistrate Judge for two terms.

A native of Oconee County, Georgia, Laura Leigh Fox received her undergraduate degree magna cum laude from Presbyterian College in 2014. She earned a Juris Doctorate from Mercer University School of Law in 2019, where she served as Senior Managing Editor of the Mercer Law Review. Prior to joining Conger & Smith, Laura Leigh worked as a public defender in the Houston County Judicial Circuit. Her practice is primarily focused on estate planning, probate, and real estate transactions.

Greg Smith has a practice focused in the areas of business transactions and litigation, banking, corporate law, and real estate. He also has extensive experience advising both institutional agricultural operations and family farms in all areas of business and legal planning, compliance, and litigation. A “Double Dawg,” Greg attended the University of Georgia and its School of Law, and also received a master’s degree from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. He is a member of Tallahassee Rotary Club and has served on the Bainbridge-Decatur County YMCA board of directors, the Decatur County Board of Tax Assessors, and the USDA Decatur County Farm Service Agency County Committee.

She also has over a decade of experience counseling clients in bankruptcy matters. Maggie is a member of the Georgia Council of Magistrate Court Judges and currently serves as Decatur County’s Chief Magistrate.
